Philanthropy Response in 2020: How SVCF responded to the crises

Executive Vice President of Development and Donor Engagement Alex Tenorio will share an overview about the community foundation and how the organization responded to the multitude of crises that emerged in 2020.

Alex Tenorio joined SVCF in October 2019. He leads the foundation’s Development team as Executive Vice President, Development and Donor Engagement. Prior to joining SVCF, Alex served as Chief Development Officer at Menlo School, an independent college preparatory school in Atherton. Before Menlo School, he served as Senior Director of Development at Stanford University’s Office of Development, overseeing a wide range of staff and fundraising programs. His tenure at Stanford included the university’s most recent comprehensive campaign, which ended in 2012 with $6.2 billion raised.

Alex graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and received an MBA specializing in finance and leadership from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has served on a number of nonprofit boards and advisory councils, including the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Chicago Council on Planned Giving, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and most recently as president of the Parent Teacher Association at his children’s elementary school in San Carlos.
