Blood Drive
Jeff Blum talked about the Blood Drive on March 21. We have 18 blood donor sign ups so far, but we need 40. Donate blood. You can save two lives with one donation. Tell your friends.
Lissa Kreisler presented the $1,000 check from Pasquale from the holiday benefit we had in December.
Paul thanked Lissa Kreisler and Jeff Blum for the extraordinary service opportunities they set up for us as Community Service Committee chairs and gave them a Power of One Award.

Mike Norcia talked about our Grande project in El Salvador. Six Los Gatos Rotarians are headed next week to El Salvador to visit the school we support and bring the Spanish books we collected for them.
Do you want Los Gatos Rotary to support a charity you love? Champion a grant. The deadline is February 28. The application link is in the President’s newsletter.

CrabFest and Auction
Michelle Strachan spoke about our record revenue at this year’s CrabFest. We raised $127,686. $31,500 went to Fund the Need, the San Jose Firefighters Foundation, which means we will pay for their entire burn camp this year. $96,186 will go to our charities. Congratulations all.
Suzanne Boxer Gassman made a video of the CrabFest, which was shared with the club. As always, a fantastic evening.
Rotary Swag
Orders for hats, t-shirts, polos, and jackets with the Rotary logo are due Friday, February 27. See the link in the President’s newsletter or in your email box.

Carol Goedde spoke about the Inner Wheel fundraiser event she attended in San Ramon to raise funds for prosthetic limbs for children.
Leroy Neider is moving to be closer to his daughter and donated $250 to the club. He thanked Mike Norcia for helping with the real estate transaction. Lucky for us, he didn’t move far.
There are a few tickets left for the Tea Party on April 18, hosted by Sergio Michel, Anna Maria Valenzuela, and Patti van der Burg.

Richard D. King Speech Contest
Carol Goedde encouraged us to sponsor the Richard D. King speech contest so we can give bigger prizes.
Tina Orsi Hartigan introduced our club-level speech contest and the participants gave their speeches. The winner goes on to area and then district level contests.
Grace Krasniewicz won second place. She is a LGHS junior, plays volleyball, does mock trial, and speech and debate, and is a newly published author.
Farah Thariq won first place. She is a LGHS junior, VP of the Interact Club, and participates in mock trial.
Congratulations to both. Farah will represent our club at the next level of competition.
