Nominating Committee
Patti van der Burg announced the three additions to the 2006–2007 slate of officers:

Nathan Pendleton — Assistant Treasurer

We will vote on the slate of officers and directors at our next meeting.
Club Activities
Paul showed a slide presentation put together by Suzanne of our January First Tuesday Happy Hour at Randy and Kathie’s house.

 


Memorial Service

A memorial service for former club member Darrell Monda will be held on January 23, from 4–6pm at La Rinconada Country Club.
Recognition
Paul presented Dan Snyder with the Power of One Award for taking over as club treasurer.

 


Rotary CrabFest

Rotary CrabFest will be held February 7 at 5pm at St. Andrews Church in Saratoga. Please purchase your tickets, donate auction items, and volunteer for the many opportunities to help that evening.

Nathan Pendleton is the new volunteer coordinator, Derrick Du is the new lead on ticket sales and closing, and Suzanne is in charge of table reservations.

  • Nava Fathi gave $500 to the foundation for her twin boys getting into university.
  • Dick Konrad for the Christmas Eve gift of his third grandchild.
  • Art Rabitz gave $50 to the scholarship fund for Hal Rosen, who had surgery and is doing very well. He would love to receive texts from club members.
  • Marjorie Brent gave $1000 to the scholarship fund in honor of the birth of her and Doug’s first grandbaby.
  • Haryl Pascal gave $30 for the look on Doug’s face when Marjorie pledged $1000.
  • Randy Cobb gave $30 for Gordon Levin’s published book about his adventures in flying.
  • Dan Snyder gave $58 for a collection of things that added up to the number 58, including his 58th birthday.
  • Kristina and Brad Strand gave $100 to the scholarship fund for their youngest who just got a job working with Apple.

 


Program

The speakers were students and their coach from the Saratoga Robotics team. They shared about partnering with United-e-Nable to make prosthetics for people around the world who would not otherwise be able to afford treatments of any kind.
