The meeting was held at the Los Gatos Youth Park, near the Los Gatos High tennis courts. A BBQ Luncheon was served by the Scouts group. The BBQ and Wine Raffle benefitted the Los Gatos Youth Park Inc.  This is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that administers and maintains this nature park, along the old Los Gatos Creek behind Los Gatos High School adjacent to the tennis courts, on land donated by San Jose Water Co.  The Youth Park houses a lodge (NeverNeverLand)  and the buildings for Scout Troops 501 and 539, and the Girl Scouts.  Los Gatos Rotary sponsors Scout Troop 501.

The meeting was kicked off by Phil Knopf, Los Gatos Youth Park’s President of the BOD. The presentation of Colors and pledge were carried out by the Boy Scout Troop. Thanks were given to Los Gatos Meats, Testarossa and Loma Prieta wineries for the tastings, and the Youth Park Board members.

Entertainment was by “Miss Wild West”, Chyrle Bacon.  Here’s a link showing her skills (http://cowgirlchyrle.com/performer/) . She did whip work and rope tricks, and told funny stories of traveling with the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show. She traveled the world for 7 years and had many adventures. She has written 3 books, has won the Guinness record for Big Loop, and is available for talks. Her infectious laugh and humor had all the Rotarians laughing along, and many said it was one of best programs ever.

The 6 wine bottles were raffled off and the meeting was adjourned.
