Rotary Foundation Drive: Marty Fishman spoke about donating to Rotary International and how we have an anonymous donor match this year.
Thank you to Michelle Myers Nelson: for her wonderful work providing lunches for us. This was her last week and the club so appreciates all of her tireless and creative efforts. A catered lunch will be provided each week beginning at our November 12 meeting.
Kristina Foltz: An International Opinion journalist shared her story of receiving a Rotary Ambassador’s Scholarship in college that fully funded a year in Barcelona. She values and understands the ideals of Rotary and this started her on her journey in South America, where she writes and speaks about media disinformation and how harmful this can be to democracy.
Hunger at Home: Slides were shown of the last two Monday’s food distributions at PayPal Park, with several Rotarians in attendance helping out.
Grateful Garment Project: Slides were shown of the backpacks we put together at last Tuesday’s meeting.
CrabFest Auction: Elaine Ware spoke about the CrabFest Auction and several new items for auction. We have 75 items right now and are looking for more. If anyone knows of dining or pampering experiences outside of Los Gatos, please contact Elaine.
Fall Fundraiser: Nov. 9 at 5:00pm at the Cinelux Theater on Winchester in Campbell. The money raised will benefit the Los-Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Foundation. There are several ways to contribute: Buy Tickets, Eat at Willow Street Pizza, Promote and donate. Early Bird tickets will be available until Nov. 6.
Announcements: Look for nominating committee ballots in your email; first round results will be announced on Nov. 12.

Guest Speaker:
Stan Bunger, who discussed his radio program with John Madden and his book “Mornings with Madden”.
Stan grew up in San Jose; he is a graduate of Leigh High School, West Valley College and received his journalism degree at San Francisco State University. He is a member of SFSU Hall of Fame and the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame. He worked for KCBS Radio from 1982-1992; and then again from 2000 until his retirement in 2021.
Today he talked about mornings with Madden. He spent 15 minutes every morning with John Madden sharing wonderful stories and insights about life in general. He spoke about and we listened to tapes of his conversations and he was a fabulous and engaging speaker. He donated a signed copy of his book to our CrabFest Auction.
