The Rotary Club of Los Gatos gathered on Tuesday June 24th at 6pm to roast and toast our outgoing president, Doug Brent. Doug led an amazing year for our club and it was a pleasure to celebrate him.

After a delicious dinner, Meghan Burton opened the program and Ron Cassel and Suzanne Boxer-Gassman honored a handful of Rotarians for outstanding service this past year. The recognition committee chose Cindy Gentile, Michelle Strachan, Jeffrey Blum, Russell Couch, Lissa Kreisler, and Elaine Ware as deserving of honor for above and beyond service this year. Patti van der Burg won the elite Rotarian award. Marty Fishman won the William Cilker Rotarian of the Year award. Congratulations, and all so well deserved!

Jeffrey Blum and his merry team of co-conspirators put on a hilarious mock meeting, with Jeffrey impersonating Doug and all sorts of shenanigans. The whole club was laughing (and this notetaker thinks it was the best roast so far). Suzanne Boxer Gassman shared her annual video slideshow to recap this past year's club activities, socials, service projects, fundraisers, and more. We've had a great year and we accomplished so much! Meghan Burton and Gordon Levin then presented Doug with some gifts. Doug shared a few emotional words and brought up this year's board  to thank them with gifts. (Meghan Burton, Ramon Ware, David Hubbard, Greg Gentile, Daniel Snyder, Jean-Marc Blanchard, Cindy Gentile, Gordon Levin, were present. Paul Johnson, Ane Troger, Nicolette Rodman Kelley, and Stefka Bonev were absent but recognized).

And finally, Doug passed the gavel officially to Paul Johnson who will take up the presidency starting July 1. Paul is in Calgary, Canada at the Rotary International Convention so his vice president, Terri Trotter, accepted the gavel on his behalf.
