August 21, 2018 was the annual club BBQ when members invite spouses and community members that want to learn more about Rotary. It was a beautiful night and everyone enjoyed the great food and great company.  Our club even had a stand showing all the organizations we support and raise funds for.  Thanks to everyone who attended and the organizers and volunteers who made it possible.

RYLA 2018 was a success! Our club sponsored 5 high school students from Los Gatos and Leigh High school.  RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Award.

RYLA aims to:

  • Demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern for youth;
  • Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders;
  • Encourage leadership of youth by youth; and
  • Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities.

It is traditional to throw a party at the end of Rotary's fiscal year (June) when one club Presidents leaves and the next one steps forward. In good fun club members put on a few skits to capture the out-going President's style. Rotarian Paul Christensen "AKA" Suzanne and others make us all laugh. Here are a few clips from their skits.

2017/18 Club President Suzanne Boxer-Gassman put this video together to highlight the clubs activities and thank everyone for making her year so successful.

CrabFest & Auction Fundraiser raises approximately $40,000 each year and is one of the club’s top three fundraisers. Rotary Club of Los Gatos gave a total of $160,000 last year to the many philanthropic organizations they support.  See highlight from 2017 event and all the charities and service organizations our club supports. "The Force was with us" on Dec. 15, 2017 for Movie Night Fundraiser.  We purchased every seat available for the hit movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  All the proceeds for this event went to Ronald McDonald House Stanford.  We gave 6 tickets to two families staying at the House while their babies are recovering from open heart surgery.  What a fantastic night it was to come together as a community and support such a great cause.

For Los Gatos Rotarians; Service and Fellowship are two intertwining themes that drive much of what our club does. Rotary was honored to partner with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley to revitalize the home of a local Los Gatos resident. Louise Blanton has lived in this Los Gatos home for over 60 years. So it was exciting to make home improvements both inside and out.  Nearly 70 Rotarians, their family, and friends made this transformation possible.

Rotary Club of Los Gatos has over 100 members.  Our mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

We meet every Tuesday 12:30-1:30pm at the Los Gatos Lodge.  Every month we complete a community service project, host social events, offer networking opportunities that build personal and professional connections.  Our two largest fund raiser are held in January CrabFest and Auction and April The Great Race of Los Gatos.  We raised enough money in 2016/17 to give $128,000 to both local and International charities.  We wold love to meet you.  Guests are always welcome to attend our club meetings.  Contact us or just show up!

Our members support Rotary's International initiatives such as End Polio Now.  Here is a video of our Rotary Foundation Chair who went to India to save lives by giving Polio vaccinations.
We sponsor two High School Interact Clubs and many youth Leadership conferences such as Fall Leadership Conference, Enterprise Leadership Conference, Rotary Youth Leadership Conference.  Here is a video of some of our RYLA students thanking us for paying for them to attend this leadership camp.
