New sinks and running water will be connected to the town’s water supply. Students are helping with the building, carrying water to the site, and digging the foundation. Paul will keep the club updated on the progress.

Opportunities from Setbacks:
Paul shared a personal story about setbacks leading to opportunities. While on vacation, Paul and Debbie’s car broke down on the freeway and had to be towed to St. George. They ended up staying for two nights while the car was being repaired. During their time there, they visited a thrift shop (Debbie’s favorite place), and in the book section, Paul found “The 8th Habit” by Stephen Covey. This book, which fits in with the Rotary theme, talks about finding your voice and helping others do the same.

Guest Speaker - Carl Salas:

Carl spoke about San Jose’s nuclear pioneers and the resurgence of nuclear energy. He highlighted the surprisingly large energy footprint of the digital economy and discussed how Microsoft and Constellation Energy’s newest project could power U.S. homes and AI. The benefits of nuclear energy, which is very clean and extremely safe now, outweigh the negatives and are the future of meeting the demanding energy needs of the future.
