Carol Abela introduced our speaker Mike Moses of San Jose Fire Fighters Burn Foundation. He became Fire Captain in 2016, and works at SJ Station #6. The Foundation provides funds and services to help burn victims and survivors at Valley Medical Center, which is one of 3 in northern California for severe burn patients. Mike showed an inspiring video of survivors that give back, nurses, and other volunteers. All donations go 100% to the burn patients. They have annual picnics for survivors and camps for kids. They provide rent and care and rehab for burn victims. They serve all without regard to how fire was started. Carol was the champion for this worthy organization, and Mike thanked us for the grant they received.
